According to the World Bank, malnutrition deducts 10% of an individual’s permanent income and 2% to 3% of the nation’s GDP. India’s economic success comes even when there exists 65% anemia amongst the rich and 88% among the poor, proving the fact that the nation’s excess capacity can, in fact, take us beyond the truncated horizon of single digit growth barrier….

There was a movie called Kya Kehna during the turn of the century that starred Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta. Saif is a casanova in the movie and gets Preity pregnant and then walks away from the relationship. A devastated Preity delivers a child and opts to marry a ‘good boy’ instead of Saif. A lot of the movie is devoted to an ‘unmarried girl’ getting pregnant….

Dr. Henk Dykmans, former director sales & marketing, Micro Compact Car, Mercedes, confirms, “DaimlerChrysler (actually) has three possibilities – sell Smart, close down the division or reorganize its activity.” But the irony is that Zetsche has already earmarked $1.4 billion to turnaround the Smart business and even expects that it will break even by 2007….
